Newtown Youth & Family Services has partnered with The Caroline Previdi Foundation to offer financial support to families whose children may not otherwise be able to participate in select extracurricular activities.

The foundation was created in memory of Caroline Previdi, one of the children killed on 12/14. Its goal is to support children in Newtown and surrounding communities with the financial means to participate in activities, including, but not limited to dance camp, art classes, and music lessons.

Caroline’s enthusiasms for her extracurricular activities as well as her compassion for others were the inspiration for the foundation.

According to its mission statement, The Caroline Previdi Foundation The Foundation “will grant to organizations which offer extracurricular activities for children. All scholarships will go to children whose families lack the financial resources to pay for these activities. The Foundation will strive to accomplish its mission through granting, outreach, and fundraising efforts.”

In an announcement released on May 16, the foundation also stated: “It is our hope that her legacy will continue as the foundation provides support to children who lack the financial resources to be involved in extracurricular activities.”

Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential.
