Host Families Sought

Host families from Newtown and surrounding areas are invited to host teenage international exchange students from around the world for the 2006-07 school year. The students will attend local high schools. They will bring their own spending money and insurance. Host families are responsible for just room and board. David Keating of STS Foundation describes two of the many students that are looking for host families :

Giulia is 16 and comes from Italy. She has three older brothers. Giulia loves playing the piano, walking her two dogs, shopping, and being with her family. She feels that being an exchange student in the USA will be one of the most important experiences of her life.

Alexis is also 16 and he comes from France. He has a younger sister named Cecile whom he loves very much. Alexis is quite sporty and enjoys playing rugby and practicing athletics. He has played the clarinet for five years.

These are just two of the hundreds of students from more than 40 countries around the world that will come to the USA for the 2006-07 school year.
