Guild Fair Is Returning
SOUTHBURY â The Guild of the Lutheran Home of Southbury will present its annual fair on Saturday, June 2, from 10 am to 3 pm. It will be held both inside in the dining room and outside in the courtyard on Main Street South.
The fair will feature crafts and baked goods provided by the members of the many churches that support the home and the guild. There will be toys, boutique items, crafts, home baked American, German and Swedish foods, a variety of holiday decorations and the very popular cookie walk, featuring a large variety of cookies.
The raffle table will have many attractive theme baskets, the horticultural table will feature an array of flowering plants, and a gourmet sandwich luncheon will be served.
The guild is the auxiliary of the Lutheran Home. It provides financial support to the work of the home. In recent years, guild activities have provided a wheelchair van, redecorated several lounges and provided a pergola to shade the patio. Lawn chairs, portable TVs and VCRs for the lounges were purchased and funds were also raised to help refurbish the residentsâ rooms in the Schuster Wing of the Lutheran Home through guild efforts.
