A Wonderful Place

To Call Home

To the Editor:

I just wanted to take a few minutes to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to all the people who took part in Cuts For Cory this past Sunday. From all the girls at Sandy Hook Hair Co. who worked tirelessly for hours, all the area businesses who donated their time or services, and all the bakers who donated delicious treats for us to sell, the day couldn’t have been better! I couldn’t tell you how many haircuts were done that day, but there was never an empty chair, and we were hopping at the Bake Sale table, as well. Thank you, Katherine, for feeding us — the sandwich was great as usual!

Thank you to Sandy Hook Hair Co., Somoroff Design, Jordan’s Restaurant, Newtown Pizza Palace, Subway, Chao Chao, Senor Panchos, Lorenzo’s Restaurant, My Place Restaurant, The Villa Restaurant, Lexington Gardens, Exxon-Mobile, Planet Beach, Graceful Planet, Porco’s Karate Academy, Have Mower Will Travel, EnerG Holistic Health, Physical Medicine & Family Wellness, Toy Tree, Smoky Topaz, Treehouse Comedy Club, Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor, Longaberger Baskets, Queen Street Cleaners, The Newtown Bee, i95, Pepsi Co., and the Sandy Hook Fire Company. You all were integral in making this the fantastic day that it was.

Thank you also to Ray Costanzo at 100 Church Hill Restaurant for the baskets that were raffled over there, and to all his employees who helped sell them, and the patrons who bought chances.

I have lived here in Sandy Hook for almost 12 years, and have always thought it a wonderful place to call home. Last Sunday proved once again just how wonderful. I’m lucky to live in such a generous community.
