Borough DUI
Police said they responded at about 10:22 pm on May 12 to a report of a possibly intoxicated motorist sitting in the driverâs seat of vehicle with the keys in the ignition and the vehicleâs engine running near 6 Queen Street.
Police said that after giving William Lawlor, 45, of 8 Charles Circle field sobriety tests, they charged him with driving under the influence.
Following processing, police released Lawlor on $250 bail for an arraignment on the charge on May 28 in Danbury Superior Court.
Dodge Vs Buick
At about 3:09 pm on May 13, motorist Howard Holleran, 70, of 14 Serenity Lane, who was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram van northward on Berkshire Road, was attempting to make a left turn onto Bradley Lane, when the Dodge struck a 1996 Buick Century station that was stopped at a stop sign on Bradley Lane, police said.
Motorist Christian Montanez, 18, of 14 Indian Hill Lane, was driving the Buick, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Holleran a written warning for failure to drive to the right on a curve.
Hawleyville Collision
A two-vehicle accident occurred on Hawleyville Road (Route 25) at its intersection with westbound Interstate 84âs Exit 9 off-ramp at about 7 am on May 8, according to police.
Motorist Philip L. Arcand, Jr, 65, of Southbury, who was driving a 2000 Honda Accord sedan, pulled away from the stop sign at the end of the off-ramp to turn left onto southbound Hawleyville Road, when the Honda was hit from behind by trucker Michael Corning, 43, of Monroe, who was driving a commercial 1985 International truck in the proper lane, police report.
There were no injuries. Arcand received an infraction for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign, according to police.
DUI Incident
At about 1:26 am on May 18, police stopped motorist George Evanish, 60, of Trumbull near 286 South Main Street to investigate.
Police said they then charged Evanish with driving under the influence, failure to drive to the right on a curve, and failure to drive in the established lane.
After arrest processing, police released Evanish on $100 bail for a June 2 court appearance.
Berkshire Impact
Police report a motor vehicle accident on northbound Berkshire Road (Route 34) near its intersection with Thunder Ridge Road about 3 pm on May 12.
Northbound motorist Maureen Lucier, 47, of Danbury, who was driving a 2007 Pontiac G-6 convertible, stopped for a vehicle in front of her which had stopped for an animal in the road, police said.
Northbound motorist Christian Minnella, 19, of Middlebury, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, then struck the rear end of the Pontiac, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Minnella written warning for following too closely.
Evading Responsibility
Sometime between 8 am and 12:15 pm on May 11, the driver of an unknown vehicle damaged the left exterior rear-view mirror of a 1991 Honda Civic coupe that was parked in a commercial parking lot at 25 Berkshire Road, police said. The Honda is owned by an Ansonia man.
Police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact investigating Officer John McCluskey at the police station at 426-5841.
Assault Investigation
Two unidentified fathers who attended a soccer match between teams of 13- and 14-year-old girls became involved in a physical altercation after the soccer match sometime between 6 and 6:30 pm on May 10 in a parking lot near Reed Intermediate School at 3 Trades Lane, police report.
Both teams that played the game were from out-of-town, police said. Police are investigating the incident as a case of assault and ask anyone who witnessed the fight to contact Officer Larissa Nosal at 426-5841.
Multiple Charges
A two-vehicle accident occurred on Botsford Hill Road, near its intersection with Swamp Road, about 12:53 pm May 14.
Motorist Ian Gingell, 18, of Monroe was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro southward on Botsford Hill Road, as motorist Emily Weber, 18, of 34 Key Rock Road was driving a 1990 Toyota Corolla northward on Botsford Hill Road, according to police.
The Chevrolet failed to stay to the right on a curve in the road and struck the Toyota, police said. There were no injuries.
After investigating, police charged Gingell with failure to keep to the right on a curve, failure to have automotive insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and misuse of a marker plate. Police released Gingell on a written promise to appear June 5 in Danbury Superior Court.
Two Toyotas
Two vehicles collided on Berkshire Road near its intersection with Pole Bridge Road at about 2:42 pm on May 14.
Motorist Faridi Kanssao-Paca, 45, of Danbury, who was driving a 2000 Toyota RAV-4 eastward on Berkshire Road, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the RAV-4 was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Tomor Sedaliu, 23, of 8 Tilson Lane, who was driving a 2008 Toyota Corolla, police report.
Police said ambulance volunteers transported Kanssao-Paca to Danbury Hospital to be checked for back pain. Police issued Sedaliu a written warning for following too closely.
Main Street
About 8 am on May 15, motorist Albert Rino, 48, of Southbury, who was driving a 2005 Ford F-250 pickup truck, was backing out of a perpendicular parking space in front of Edmond Town Hall at 45 Main Street, police said.
As the Ford attempted that maneuver, it struck a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SUV driven by Christine Russell, 54, of 27 Old Green Road that was attempting to enter the southbound travel lane, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave Rino a written warning for unsafe backing.
Queen/Church Hill
About 3:43 pm on May 17, a two-car collision occurred at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Queen Street.
In that incident, motorist Christina Reed of 63 Main Street, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Avalon sedan, drove into the rear end of a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible driven by Claudia Anderson of Brookfield, police said.
Ambulance volunteers transported Reed to Danbury Hospital to be checked for possible injuries, police said. Police issued Reed a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Vandalism
Sometime on May 15 or May 16, someone illegally entered property at 46 Hundred Acres Road and vandalized the premises, police report.
Police said that the vandal spray painted vulgarities on a house, a workshop, and two barns. There have been several such vandalism incidents at that property. Police are investigating and ask anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at 426-5841.
Rollover
About 7:37 pm on May 19, motorist Nathaniel Burns, 17, of 8 Wendover Road was driving a 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan northward on Poverty Hollow Road, near Wentworth Drive, when a bee flew into the vehicle, causing him to lose control of the minivan, police report.
The minivan went off the left road shoulder, traveled down an embankment, rolled over twice and then landed on its wheels, police said.
Police said Burns was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation. A pet dog that was riding in the vehicle appeared uninjured, police said. Police verbally warned Burns for making a restricted turn.
