Salon-A-Thon Event Nailed It
To the Editor:
We would like to thank the many in our community gave so much of their time, talent and energy to make this past Sunday’s Salon-a-Thon at Ricci’s Salon a tremendous success. All funds raised from this day long event have been graciously donated to Sandy Hook Promise where they will be used to continue to help our community heal. This includes financial, in-kind, education and individual and community mental wellness treatment and events, to name a few.
A very special thank you goes out to Dan and Liz Riccio of Ricci’s Salon. They not only provided their beautiful salon, but also coordinated their stylists and students. All of the stylists and students generously volunteered their time and donated all of their tips. Their commitment made this entire day possible. Additionally, we would like to thank Barb Kraushaar at Ricci’s for donating the Mets and Yankee tickets, Simply Baby & Kids and Down On Main for their beautiful baskets, Ann Taylor LOFT, Bare Essentials, Vera Bradley, Alex & Ani, Serena & Lily and Sanctuary – all donations were used for the silent auction. Newtown Deli and Dunkin Donuts provided delicious food and beverages. Sign-a-Rama and Fast Signs of Danbury provided signs and banners.
We would like to give a special thank you to OPI who created and donated 10,000 bottles of the ‘Sandy Hook Green’ nail color. There are now hundreds of hands in the Newtown community proudly wearing this beautiful color. Finally, we would also like to thank the community of Newtown and surrounding area for your generous donations at the event. Your support will help make our community and nation a safer and better place.
Sincerely,
Tim Makris
