*A reminder this week that the next benefit concert at Fairfield Theatre Company will be “Stop in the Name of Love: Band Together Benefit.” An evening of Motown, soul and blues to benefit The Children’s Burn Camp of Connecticut, the May 29 show will feature performances by JEN DURKIN, JAY STOLLMAN, CHRISTOPHER BROWN, CHRIS COOGAN and Band Together founders ROB FRIED and JERRY VIGORITO.

Tickets are $32 ($27 for members), showtime is 7:30 and doors will open at 7.

*FILTER is back and getting ready to hit the road for their first tour in nearly six years. Having just traveled to Kuwait to participate in the Operation MySpace concert in March and released (finally!) Anthems for the Damned just last week, Richard Patrick and crew will be making a stop in Hartford on Friday, May 30, at Pig’s Eye Pub.

The Hartford show is listed on the band’s website as an outdoor show at 50 Union Place in Hartford, so this may even be a freebie. Keep checking OfficialFilter.com or call the pub (which is at 356 Asylum Street), 860-278-4747, or tune in to WCCC, which is sponsoring the show.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141. Shows listed at clubs are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
