Adoption Options At Animal Control

The following dogs and cats are available for adoption from the Newtown pound, which is located at the end of Ethan Allen Road (behind the transfer station):

BAXTER is a three-year-old mixed breed neutered male who would be an ideal dog in a household with other dogs, children and cats.

SARAH is a one-year-old female spayed domestic short hair cat who would happily grace the lap of her lucky owners.

NATASHA is a two-and-a-half-year-old female spayed shepherd mix who is good with other dogs and cats and has a pleasing personality.

BAILEY is a five-year-old black and white neutered English Springer Spaniel who would is ideal for a single owner or couple and gets along well with other dogs.

SASHA is a four-and-a-half-year-old spayed female brindle Terrier mix who would be an excellent companion for children.

AMBER is a four-and-a-half-year-old white/brown spayed female mixed breed. Amber does well with other dogs and cats.

JENNY is a three-year-old spayed female white/brindle mix breed who is well socialized with people, but cats and other dogs would not be an easy mix. Jenny is energetic and would play happily with her new owners.

CHARLOTTE is a four-year-old female Hokkaido-terrier mix, who has a sweet personality and is friendly with other dogs and people.

Canine Advocates of Newtown, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer group, raises funds to spay/neuter and provide shots against DHLPP and rabies for all of the Newtown Pound cats and dogs. CAN also provides a free training DVD and Beyond Obedience Dog Training offers one free individual training lesson to adopters.
