Bryan-Andrew House Tour

ORANGE — On Sunday, May 25, from 1 to 4:30 pm, Orange Historical Society will open the Bryan-Andrew House for lunch and a house tour of the oldest house in Orange.

Located at 131 Old Tavern Road, the mid-18th Century house has been restored but still needs interior work. This is an opportunity for visitors to see what has been accomplished and what work remains to be finished. The event is a fundraiser for the necessary dollars to officially open the house as a museum.

Also known as the William Andrew House, the Bryan-Andrew House was built about 1750 for the Bryan family, early settlers in North Milford. The area was known as “Bryan’s Farms.” The house includes a finely-detailed front cornice, feather-edged sheathing and hand-split lath laboriously installed without nails

The house later served as housing for dairy farm employees and was ultimately bought by the Town of Orange in 2000 to be restored for use as a museum

Cost for the open house and lunch is $25; call 203-795-3106.
