Senior Gold Girls

At the Longmeadow Jamboree

Senior Gold 10 Northhampton, Mass. 4

Senior Gold 6 South Hadley 3

Senior Gold 6 Longmeadow White 3

Senior Gold 6 Agawam 5

The Senior Gold girls went undefeated against some very tough and rough teams from Massachusetts in the Longmeadow Jamboree over the weekend. Julia “Sticks” Trudell tallied the game winner in the final game with 30 seconds left to play on a nice cage roll duck under move. Christina Caporale and Bryanna Leblanc were again outstanding in the net, making key saves all day long. The attack was formidable against some very stingy and tough defenses and was led by Celeste Cheung, Bryanna LeBlanc, Trudell, Meredith Bridges, Kaitlin Voswinkel, Molly Mahony, and Erin Kenning. The defense was led by Christina Gould, Rachel Hyland, Katelyn Kean, Katherine Lotrecchiano, and Kelsey Karp. Kenning (11) and VosWinkel (10) led the team in ground balls by constantly hustling to come up with loose balls.

Senior Gold Girls 11, New Fairfield 5

Bryanna LeBlanc had an exceptional game in cage coming up with nine saves and continuously stoning shooters near the crease. The defense played well, led by Katelyn Kean and Kelsey Karp. The midfielders, led by Erin Kenning (team high five ground balls) and Kaitlyn VosWinkel (team high three assists), did their jobs well by forcing grounds balls and setting up the attackers with good looks in transition. The attackers could not be stopped. Goals were scored by Meredith Bridges, Julia “Sticks” Trudell, Meghan Harkins, Alex Klein, Molly Mahony and VosWinkel.

Senior Gold Girls 11, New Milford 3

Christina Caporale had 11 saves to lead Newtown to victory at New Milford. The midfielders, led by Molly Mahony, Kaitlin VosWinkel, Erin Kenning, Andrea Sayegh, Celeste Cheung, Bryanna Leblanc, and Kelly O’Sullivan, were solid. Mahony led the team with six ground balls. The defense was stout with Christina Gould and Katherine Lotrecchiano leading the way. The attack was led by Julia Trudell, Meredith Bridges, Vos Winkel, Kenning, O’Sullivan and Mahony.

Junior Gold Girls

Longmeadow Jamboree

Jr Gold won three games and lost one game.

The Gold girls had a blast at the Longmeadow Jamboree, scoring 19 goals, grabbing 40 ground balls and compiling 12 goalie saves.

Newtown 4, New Milford 3

Goalie Trisha Sullivan protected the net with four saves even though this was her first time handling a goalie stick. Led by Mary Beth Semosky, Brittany Cologna, and Bridget O’Donnell, the Gold defense was tight and helped the team come back to win. Middies Maggie Kost, Meaghan Brophy, Julia DiLuoffo, Emily Maher, and Maddie Fletcher played great transition lacrosse. The offense was led by scorers Kristie VosWinkel and Lindsey Jagoe, as well as Bailey O’Sullivan, McKensie Hammonds, Karly Gregorio, Eliza Eggelston, and Brittany Boggs.

Ridgefield 6th 10, Newtown 5

Eliza Eggelston, McKensie Hammonds, Bridget O’Donnell, and Mary Beth Semosky played well for Newtown. Despite recovering 31 ground balls (Emily Maher led the team with six) and a late game offensive push, Newtown fell short. O’Donnell made five great saves as the second half goalie.
