Honesty In Business

To the Editor:

As I recently had back surgery and was still experiencing discomfort, I went to the Drug Center on Church Hill Road for a soft brace. It was my thought that the brace could give me some support.

When I spoke to the pharmacist and owner, Don Bates, I was discouraged from my purchase. Don suggested that I forego the brace (a considerably priced purchase) and contact my physician regarding physical therapy.

As it turned out, my surgeon ordered the physical therapy and I have had considerable relief. I told my surgeon of the pharmacist’s suggestion and my doctor’s statement was, “Now there’s an honest man!”

It’s great to know that it is truly “Nicer in Newtown!” because of an ethical storeowner.
