Shpendi “Frank” Ambari, 40, of Beacon Falls, died May 21 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after an extremely brave battle against brain cancer. Mr Ambari owned The Village Barber Shop in Newtown and Frank’s Unisex Hair Salon in Monroe. He was born October 22, 1967, in Diber, Macedonia, the son of Aki and Fitnet Ambari.

He was the loving husband of Karen Ambari and the beloved father of Adriana and Dibran Ambari.

He was an award-winning hairstylist and leaves many friends and customers from his businesses. Mr Ambari was a member of the Albanian Mosque in Waterbury and was very dedicated to his support of the mosque. He also helped many immigrants who came to this country from Albania and Macedonia. He was a proud and passionate person to his heritage.

He is survived by his devoted wife and his two children; his loving brother, Naim and his family from Macedonia; and his sister, Anita Rexhepi and her family from Beacon Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held May 22 in the Albanian-American Cultural and Islamic Center, 106 Columbia Boulevard, Waterbury, with a private burial in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury.
