At Weir Farm
WILTON â Itâs not too late to sign up for one of Weir Farmâs art classes for children.
Classes encourage students to design one-of-a-kind kites, build a natural habitat for their favorite birds or mold clay into inventive frogs and snakes.
Registration is still open for Weir Farm Art Centerâs Art Explorer classes for children ages 6-12 at Weir Farm National Historic Site this summer. Two- and three-day workshops and week-long classes, each in two or three hour sessions, are available.
Rates vary, with two-day workshops $55, and many of three-day workshops running about $75 each; other course fees are higher.
Space is limited to 13 students per class, so early registration is encouraged. A PDF is available through Weir Farmâs website; visit nps.gov/wefa and click on For Kids, then on Kids Art Classes.
The unique landscape and site history of Weir Farm will encourage all young artists as they become engaged in learning new techniques to express their creativity.
Classes are offered in age specific groups and are held rain or shine from July 5 to August 18. Registration is by mail or in person. Registration is not accepted by phone.
Forms are available at Weir Farm Visitor Center, 735 Nod Hill Road, online, or by calling 203-761-9945.
The Weir Farm Art Center, a non-profit organization, works in partnership with the National Park Service to provide programs for children and adults.
