Time For Some Head Scratching
Time For Some Head Scratching
To the Editor:
1. Coincidence that the accreditation information hit the media this week... or is it the politics of getting the parents into panic mode? Hmmmm.
2. Online conferencing certainly does exist. The new improved high-tech version of teleconferencing. Although its use surely may not have the same spirit and flavor as the big out-of-state conventions (Vegas, etc). Remember over a quarter million dollars is set aside for conferences, travel and lodging. Necessary in todayâs computer age or just a perk?
3. I see the high school buses not because I am stalking the transportation system, but because I am dead stopped in traffic on Route 34 until the cavalcade of yellow vehicles departs. Danny Amaral made a similar suggestion as far as combining bus runs.
It is all about ways to trim a hefty budget without impacting programs. If everyone does some head scratching instead of the status quo thinking that because something was always done this way it should continue; I bet some ideas of merit would surface.
Sarah, I applaud you. Not too many folks can spell my name correctly. But, please refrain from terms such as âignorance and apathy.â You criticized others but were way short on suggestions. You have never walked in my size twelves.
