Both of Newtown High School’s scheduled lacrosse playoff games, as well as the South-West Conference track and field championships and the SWC’s individual tennis tournaments have been postponed. Originally to have taken place today, Tuesday, May 27, these events are now slated for Wednesday, May 28. The threat of severe thunderstorms caused the changes.

All times and locations remain the same. The track and field competition will be held at 4 pm, at Bunnell High School in Stratford. Both SWC tourney semifinal lacrosse games will take place at 5 pm — the girls against New Fairfield at Blue & Gold Stadium and the boys against New Milford, at New Fairfield High.

The individual tourneys for girls’ and boys’ tennis are to begin at 3:30 pm on Wednesday — the girls at Joel Barlow High in Redding and the boys at Danbury’s Rogers Park.

As of noon on Tuesday, Newtown’s softball team was still slated to play its tourney semifinal game against Lauralton Hall at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield (4:15 pm).
