Pancakes For A Cause

After the 7:30 and 10:30 am masses on Sunday, May 17, members of St Rose Church found the Knights of Columbus serving up a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser in the church’s parish hall to benefit Ken Ayles and his family.

Pancakes, syrup, and sausages were served for $5 for a single breakfast.

“We are selling the best pancakes east of the Mississippi,” said Mike Salvatore, a co-chair for the event with Larry Rice.

Grand Knight Jim Tevnan said the Knights heard about Mr Ayles, who has been active in community organizations and who is battling brain cancer, and decided to jump in to help raise funds for the Ayles family.

Mr Rice coordinated the event. Dunkin’ Donuts, Bagel Delight, Big Y, Stop & Shop and Cosco chipped in for the event.

“If there is anybody who needs us,” Mr Salvatore said about the Knights, “we just go right to them.”
