Pancakes For A Cause
After the 7:30 and 10:30 am masses on Sunday, May 17, members of St Rose Church found the Knights of Columbus serving up a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser in the churchâs parish hall to benefit Ken Ayles and his family.
Pancakes, syrup, and sausages were served for $5 for a single breakfast.
âWe are selling the best pancakes east of the Mississippi,â said Mike Salvatore, a co-chair for the event with Larry Rice.
Grand Knight Jim Tevnan said the Knights heard about Mr Ayles, who has been active in community organizations and who is battling brain cancer, and decided to jump in to help raise funds for the Ayles family.
Mr Rice coordinated the event. Dunkinâ Donuts, Bagel Delight, Big Y, Stop & Shop and Cosco chipped in for the event.
âIf there is anybody who needs us,â Mr Salvatore said about the Knights, âwe just go right to them.â
