David Stanley Flood
David Stanley Flood, 74, of Seymour, the beloved husband to Judith Delaney Flood, died May 26, at the Hospital of St Raphael, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Derby, December 20, 1938, son of Stanley and Sophie Sherwinsky Flood.
His loving family, in addition to his wife, includes his children Cynthia Flood Hughes of Sandy Hook, David O. Flood, and wife Barbara, of Southington, Kate Flood Kane of Durham, and Jennifer Rosene of Plymouth, N.H.; his sister Carole Zuella, and husband Harry, of Oxford; eight cherished grandchildren; five cherished great-grandchildren; lifelong friends Al and Mary Karg of Killingworth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John and Rosemary Delaney and Dr Michael and Jean Sharon; several other relatives; and members of The Reunion Committee of Seymour High School Class of 1956. His brother William predeceased Mr Flood. He will be sadly missed by all.
Mr Flood was a retired chemist, most recently technical director of Derby Cellular Products.
An avid golfer, he also enjoyed gardening, softball, model building, and growing orchids.
A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life will take place Friday, May 31, at 10 am directly at St Augustine Church, 35 Washington Avenue, Seymour. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Friend and relatives may call Thursday, May 30, from 4 to 7 pm, at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Route 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour.
