Hawk Laxmen Advance To Pinnacle Game

Newtown High School’s boys’ lacrosse team won its South-West Conference tournament semifinal-round game on May 29, defeating New Milford 11-8.
The second-seeded Nighthawks advance to play No. 5 Brookfield in the title game. The championship clash is set to be played at Stratford’s Bunnell High School at 2 pm on Saturday, May 31.
Newtown won the semifinal game on its home turf at Blue & Gold Stadium after the contest was postponed twice because of weather-related problems, including a power outage. The game was originally to have been played at neutral site New Fairfield High.
