Treasured Friends And Family
Amy Katherine MacDonald Pottbecker, 76, of Americana Resorts, Rockledge, Fla., and Candlewood Lake Club, New Milford, died at Danbury Hospital May 24 following a short battle with cancer. She was born in New Haven, March 10, 1932.
 She met her loving husband, Luther Henry Pottbecker, in New Haven, at a YWCA dance. Married for 54 years, the two have been blessed with two children, Cathy Ann Pottbecker Alpert of Newtown, and Scott Edward Pottbecker of Kent. She is also survived by her son-in-law Craig Alpert and daughter-in-law Amy Pottbecker; and four grandchildren, Kayla, Colin, Taylor, and Sage, all adored and loved deeply by her. Mrs Pottbecker is also survived by one sister, Dora Kirst of Texas.
In addition to enjoying spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed playing golf, sewing, swimming, and dancing. She was an active member in the ladies golf and luncheons at the Candlewood Lake Club for more than 42 years. Mrs Pottbecker was also active with ladies golf and other activities at the Americana Resorts in Florida. She treasured the friendships that she developed over the years from these activities, both in Connecticut and Florida.
 Friends and family may call Sunday, June 1, from 4 to 7 pm at The Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford. There will be a private burial in New Milford Center Cemetery, New Milford.
