A Kind And

Gentle Man

Bruce Alan Taylor, 55, of Largo, Fla., died May 22. He was born in Groton, N.H., September 8, 1952, the son of Frederick and Ruth Taylor.

 He moved to Newtown in 1953, graduated from Newtown High School, and began work at the Newtown Police Department as a dispatcher. Mr Taylor was active in the Newtown Tennis Association. He moved to Florida and began working at Largo Medical Center.

His real passion was to be a DJ and he went by the name of “Cousin Bruce.” He made tapes for many people and was a DJ for many parties. His family includes a brother, Robert Taylor, his wife, Barbara, and their children, Greg and Jeff, and Jeff’s wife, Lindsay; a sister, Linda Manganaro, her husband Salvatore, and her children Michelle and Joel, and Joel’s wife, Danielle Weinstein. He is also survived by his former wife, Julie Taylor; and his cherished cat, Simon.

Mr Taylor was a kind and gentle man. He cherished his family, his friends, and his pets. He will live in the hearts of all the people he touched, including his closest friend, John Kocet and the entire Kocet family; co-workers at Largo Medical Center; his nurses and doctors; and neighbors at Shangri-La Mobile Home Park.

There will be a memorial service at the Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street, June 7, at 11 am.
