Comedy Hypnosis At NHS

On Thursday, June 5, at 7 pm, in the Newtown High School auditorium, Steve Wronker will be performing his comedy hypnosis show.

Requested donation is $5 per person.

“Steve Wronker’s Funny Business” comedy hypnosis shows open with a ten-minute monologue that explains to the audience what will happen during the show. Mr Wronker explains what hypnosis is, what it feels like, and why it is fun to participate. He also emphasizes that the experience will not be embarrassing for anyone, whether they are the volunteers or the audience members.

He then performs a brief test that allows the audience to experience the power of suggestion for themselves, and then issues a call for volunteers.

Appropriate for all ages, the show is being hosted by NHS Student Government as a fundraiser for a Newtown family whose 9-year-old daughter is living with juvenile myositis (JM). JM is a rare autoimmune disease that affects approximately 5,000 children in the United States, primarily in those ages 18 and under.

Symptoms include muscle weakness and pain, severe fatigue, rashes, swallowing and digestive difficulties, and lung and heart problems. Some children may experience a remission, while others will battle JM their entire life. Complications from this disease can prove fatal

Medication can help to alleviate the symptoms of JM, but there is no known cure.

For additional information about the show call the high school at 426-7646 or Allie Clement, the president of NHS Student Government, at 417-6568.
