Mary Crowley Hugo, 76, of Bethel, died May 28 at Danbury Hospital. She was born in New Haven, April 4, 1932, a daughter of Cornelius and Julia (Wiggins) Crowley. She was the widow of Robert G. Hugo, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary H. Nielson and her husband, Peter, of Newtown; and a grandson, Steven Nielson of Rocky Hill. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sons, John J. Hugo and Robert G. Hugo, Jr.

A Bethel resident since 1967, Mrs Hugo was a teacher in various schools in Connecticut and later was a sales service specialist. She was a registrar of voters, a member of the Sweet Adelines, and a member of St Mary’s Church in Bethel.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to be celebrated at St Mary’s Church, Bethel, Friday, May 30, at 10 am. Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Bethel. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Mary’s Church, 24 Dodgingtown Road, Bethel CT 06801.

Bethel Funeral Home of Hull Funeral Service, 215, Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, is in charge of arrangements.
