Newtown Noyes-Ryder Rangers 6, Ridgefield Six 5 â In a start-to-finish nail-biter, the Rangers took the lead with a five-run seventh inning and then held on by their fingertips to secure the win. The Rangers clung to a 1-0 edge for the first five innings until the home team pushed two across in the sixth. Newtown stormed back to a 6-2 lead on clutch hits by Gary Braun, Nick Clarke, Ryan Daignault, Jon Hull, and Mike Lengel. Hull whiffed the final Ridgefield batter to strand the tying and winning runs on second and third. Newtown southpaw Troy Larsen carried his team with four innings of middle relief, allowing only three hits and two runs, including one unearned. Dan Gustafson also showed his stuff with a flawless inning on the mound. Contributing multi-hit games were Lengel (3 for 3), Braun (2 for 2), Hull (2 for 3), and Mario Pizighelli (2 for 4).
Newtown Shell Hornets 10, Ridgefield Five 0 â Playing their best game of the season, the Hornets pounded Ridgefieldâs fireballing ace pitcher for five runs in the first two innings and raised their record to 7-0. The Ridgefield pitcher, who shut out the Hornets over three in-nings in the season opener, was greeted in the first inning by a towering lead-off home run to right center by Kyle Wilcox. Tyler Gibney followed with a double and scored on an error. In the second inning, the Hornetsâ Chris Robinson walked, Mac Morlock drilled a single, hot-hitting John Hampford crushed an RBI single up the middle, and Wilcox whacked a two-RBI double to right center. Wilcox drove in two more runs in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning to complete a perfect four-for-four day. He also pitched two shutout innings, yielding no hits and striking out five batters. Relief pitchers Stefan Hennessey and Connor Blanc completed the shutout. Hennessey hurled three innings, giving up two hits and striking out six batters, including three straight in the sixth inning. Hennessey and Gibney each had two hits, and Ben Stoller slapped the other Hornetsâ hit. Hampford, Morlock, and Harry Snellback each scored two runs. Catcher Chris Tenney threw a strike to shortstop Nicky Sa-jovic to nail a would-be base stealer in the final inning.
Newtown Bombers 15, Danbury 4 â Led by Nick Barretoâs four hits in five at-bats, the Bombers blasted Danbury in a nine-inning game on Memorial Day. With marching bands and fire trucks on parade beyond the right field fence, the Bombers broke open the game with a seven run fourth inning powered by doubles from Mike Lengel (2 for 4) and Kyle Wilcox (2 for 4, 2 doubles). Also enjoying good days at the plate were Chris Tenney (2 for 4) and Mike Koch (2 for 4). On the hill, Koch and Wilcox combined to yield just a pair of runs over four frames, and Dan Poeltl threw two innings of hitless relief. Jon Hull pitched a shutout inning in the ninth.

 Richâs Keys 8, Emmet And Glander 2 â Matt Maturo had two singles and two RBIs and pitched a scoreless inning for Emmett and Glander. Alister Sore was sharp in the field after returning to the lineup. Stephen Brittin had two base hits a double to lead off the game and a single, while also pitching two innings and giving up one run. Anders Svenson made a great play at 3rd base while also having two great at bats.
Richâs Keys 8, Emmet And Glander 5 â Justin Appley had 2 hits a single and a double and pitched a scoreless 4th inning. Jack Procacinin made two great plays from deep while playing shortstop to beat each runner by a half of step. Leading Emmett and Glanderâs offense were Chris Calo (3 hits, 2 runs), Val Diiorio (2 hits, 2 runs, 1 RBI), and Rob McCabe (2 singles, 1 double and 2 RBIs). Matt Maturo and Andrew Ross gave up one hit and struck out five over the first three innings.

Cyberdoorman.com 3, Newtown Mobil 2 â Nick Lotrecchiano went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Eric Cascone had an RBI double to power Cyberdoorman.comâs offense. Jake Simonson had a great catch in the outfield and Andrew Hickey had a good outing on the hill to close out the game in a 3-2 victory. Ryan Rosenberger went 2 for 2 for Newtown Mobil and Will Dalton added a double. Connor Roche and Harry Depuy pitched well in defeat, combining for eight strikeouts.
Mobil One 4, Newtown Mobil 2 â Harry Depuy led Newtown Mobil offensively, going 2 for 2 with an RBI. Bryce Decker and Connor Roche also contributed on offense with a hit apiece. Roche also stuck out the side in his lone inning of work on the mound. Connor LeMay saved two runs with a catch in deep right field to help keep Newtown Mobil in the game.
BW Retail Real Estate 11, Newtown Mobil 4 â Will Dalton led the Newtown Mobil offense, going 2 for 2, including a double and an RBI. Connor Roche also contributed two hits for Newtown Mobil in the lose.
Newtown Mobil 10, The Benchwarmers 10 â Newtown Mobil jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead only to see The Benchwarmers tie the score in the bottom of the first. The Benchwarmers then scored two more runs in the second and another in the third to take a 5-2 lead. Trailing 5-2 going into the fourth, the Newtown Mobil Bombers erupted for 8 runs, capped off by a Connor Roche grand slam homer. The Benchwarmers battled back, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth and another three in the bottom of the fifth to tie the score at ten. Both teams had a chance to score the go ahead run in the sixth but the defense for both teams sparkled with clutch plays. Stars of the game for Newtown Mobil were Connor Roche (2-2, grand slam and five RBIs), Bryce Decker (double, RBI, and a run scored) and Connor LeMay (single, RBI, and a run scored). Matt Argraves and Will Dalton anchored the defense with several nice catches in the outfield on well hit balls.

Studio Green 10, Emmett and Glander 9 â Studio Green was led by the strong pitching of Andrew Craigin and Jaret DeVellis who pitched three strong innings. The offense was led by Michale Parker, Glen daMota, Dillon Palumbo, and Michael Ziluck who all had key hits. Chris Calo and Val Diiorio each scored three runs to lead Emmett & Glanderâs offense. Calo had three hits and Diiorio singled and drew three walks. Sam Omalyev scored a run and made a couple of good defensive stops at third base. Rob McCabe pitched two shutout innings late in the game but a final inning rally came up one run short of tying the score.
Gamers 8, The Fiorella 1 â The Fiorella team fell to the Gamers 8-1 behind the bats of Patrick Briscoe, who was 2 for 2, and Mason Melillo who was 2 for 4. The Gamersâ pitching staff of Ethan Carpenter, Luke Rustici, and Mason Melillo led the way. Sam Czel, Holden Turk, and Conner Ryan had multiple hits for Fiorella.
Gamers 10, Turner Construction 7 â In the second game of the double header Michael Doyle scored three runs and had two hits. Austin Huffman had a double and a single and drove in two runs . Joey Santella had two hits and Zack Weiland had one. Ethan Carpenter hit a homerun to right center, his third of the year. James âLeuchâ Leucci, Paul OâLeary, and Devin Peterson all made nice defensive plays in the field. Albert Dean went 3 for 3 for Turner.

Onex 8, Bad News Bears 7 â Justin Gillespie had the game winning RBI in the last inning for a come from behind victory. Adam Robertson pitched well, retiring all three batters he faced.
Onex 7, Raymond James Financial Group 6 â Tim LeBlanc led Onex with a 3 for 3 batting performance, including the game winning hit in the last inning with two outs. Tim and Matt Gerics also pitched scoreless innings. Raymond Jamesâ offense was led by Jake Oliger who tripled and Charles Soto who doubled, and Andrew Lee, Carlo Fenaroli, and Matt Pellison scored key runs.
Onex 4, Burrell and Winans 3 â With Onex trailing by two with two outs in the last inning, Matt Gerics tripled with the bases loaded to lead Onex to the come from behind victory. Gerics, Tim LeBlanc, and Matt St Jean also pitched well allowing one run each in two innings of work.
 Benchmark Group 13, Raymond James Financial Group 3 â The Green Hornets were lead offensively by Geoffrey Santore, Steven Moccio, Richard Ciamarra, and Joseph Accousti with 13 combined hits. Thomas Cotton and Jack Riley pitched scoreless innings on the mound for the Hornets. Strong infielding was led with Richard Ciamarra, Scott Alexander, and Matthew Sodoski.
Benchmark Research 9, Attorney Greg LaDestro 8 â Ryan Argraves had three hits and Ryan Shaw had a triple and a single for Attorney Greg LaDestro.
Attorney Greg LaDestro 11, Mobil 1 Lube Express 9 â Ryan Shaw led the way for Attorney Greg LaDestro with three hits and five RBIs including a three-run homer. Jamie Cochrane added three hits of his own, and Owen Samson contributed with two hits. Mobil One saw great pitching by Daniel Pearson in his first appearance of the season. Nick Calbo, Parker Johnson, and Alex Soderholm anchored the defense, and Justin Dunn, Sam Duffy, and Michael Meyer pounded in two RBIs each for the âLubers.â
Attorney Greg LaDestro 9, Fiorella Insurance 7 â Jimmy Craig knocked in four runs on three hits for Attorney Greg LaDestro. In addition, Jamie Cochrane and Ryan Shaw each had three hits while Matt Stewart and Owen Samson had two hits apiece.
Rohrbacher Construction 5, Mobil One Lube Express 0 â Rohrbacher chalked up a solid win on the pitching of Mitch Savoca and Brian Kerins. Rohrbacher combined for 15 strikeouts on the hill. Hits by Matt Davis, Trevor Gaines, and Luke Reppucci lead Rohrbacher offensively. Despite an awesome appearance by Samantha Cody on the mound, the âLubersâ struggled throughout the game.
