The Rising Star Summer Basketball League will be back for its sixth season at Treadwell Park and all players (boys and girls in grades 6-9) interested in participating should register soon.

The league, sponsored by the Newtown Parks and Recreation Department, will begin on July 11. There will be two games per week, in the evenings, at Treadwell Park. Participation will include playoffs, clinics, and an All Star game.

Newtown High School varsity players help coach the teams and each participant will receive a league T Shirt with the NHS Nighthawk basketball logo!

Registration forms can be found in the Newtown Parks and Recreation Spring/Summer Preview Booklet and are also available at the Parks and Recreation office. The program code is 41020A for the boys and 41020B for the girls and the fee will be $70.

A roster of 12 players per team is anticipated, which ensures a full schedule yet allows players to vacation as well as participate in other summer sports events.

Any parents interested in coaching should call coach John Quinn at 270-7275.
