Another Successful Lobsterfest
To the Editor:
The officers and members of Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co. would like to thank our family, friends, fellow firefighters, residents of Newtown and out-of-town guests for helping to make our 27th annual LobsterFest on Friday and Saturday, June 6-7, a success. We served over 1,800 lobsters and 600 pounds of steak last weekend.
We would like to thank Maureen Will for the use of her property for parking, and our neighbors for putting up with the noise. We need to thank our fellow volunteer firefighters from Newtown Hook & Ladder, Dodgingtown, Southbury, Easton, Monroe, Stepney and Stevenson, and anyone else who offered their support this year.
In addition, we would like to thank LRM, Newtown Color Center, Associated Refuse and JP Maguire for their donations. A thank you goes out to the Town of Newtown, Oxford, Watertown, Ridgefield, and Danbury for allowing us to borrow portable lights.
We would also like to thank all of the local business owners and merchants for their donations this year for our first LobsterFest raffle.
We would like to offer a special Thank You to Carrie Manna, who won Friday night’s 50-50 raffle and decided to donate that money — more than $400 — to the fire company.
We have so many people to thank and we are sorry if we missed anyone.
Thank you for the continued support of Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue. Mark your calendars for the 28th annual event on June 5 and 6, 2015.
Sincerely,
Anthony Capozziello
