Newtown High School tennis players Julia Frattaroli and Aimee Alexander got all the way to the semifinals of the State Open individual tournament before finally being eliminated this week. The top seed in the doubles bracket, Frattaroli and Alexander, won first, second, third, and quarterfinal-round matches before falling to Wilton’s Kaitlyn Zheng and Taylor Ingerman, the fourth seed, 4-6, 7-5, 1-6 on June 10.
