Open House, Mountain Laurel Festival Planned At Sticks & Stones Farm
The public is invited to visit Sticks and Stones Farm Retreat & Education Center on Saturday, June 14, for a day of music, nature, healthy living inspiration, and family fun. Guests will be invited to walk the farm’s labyrinth, stroll the Mountain Laurel and Moss Garden, and hike the trails throughout the 60-acre farm.
The event is free of charge and will run rain or shine from 11 am until 4 pm.
The day will open with a drumming circle led by Karin Cookie and a Green Drinks Workshop led by Amie Hall, both beginning at 11 am. Laura Carlson will offer chair massages for the first three hours of the open house, and Karle Kern will offer chair massages for the final three hours of the event.
Events on June 14 will also include a tai chi demonstration by Linda Gilchrist; a children’s yoga class by Chiara of Kismet Kids Yoga; plant hikes, fire demonstrations and nature tables by Two Coyotes Wilderness School; farm to table offerings from The Farm’s Kitchen; an essential oils workshop hosted by The Sound Center; and a plant, medicine and weed walk led by Joan Palmer and Alison Birks.
In addition, Ms Palmer will have two presentations of “The Institute for Sustainable Nutrition”; Crystal Cymbalogy will offer a guided labyrinth walk; Uncle Zak, “The Uke Guy,” will lead a ukulele lesson for beginners; Nigel Palmer will offer “Measuring Your Plants’ Nutrition” workshop; and Amie Hall will offer “Square Foot Gardening 101.”
Additional offerings will include a yoga class by Aga Chapska; “Clean Food Basics” by Eliana Grubel; “Family Friendly Super Smoothies” hosted by Ms Hall; a stone puzzle demonstration by Ethan Currier; another drumming circle with Ms Cook; and a Fantasy Woods Walk with Justin Pegnataro.
Ongoing all day events will include hourly raffle giveaways, farm scavenger hunts for children, Tim Currier’s Moss Stroll Up The Mountain, and more.
