Vaccine Clinic Was A Success
Vaccine Clinic Was A Success
To the Editor,
Last Saturday we held our 15th annual Low Cost Anti-Rabies Clinic in Newtown, which once again was a success. We vaccinated approximately 120 cats and dogs. This clinic was made possible by two local veterinarians, Dr Brian Silverlieb of the Mt Pleasant Hospital for Animals and Dr Neal Warner of the Newtown Animal Clinic and their assistants, Nicole Reilly and Sarah Schofield, who donated their time and service â my very special thanks to each of them.
I would also like to extend many thanks to the following volunteers from the Newtown Womanâs Club, who for the eighth year assisted at the clinic â Mary Antey, Marcia Cavanaugh, Connie Hewett, Evelyn Spera, Jean Swanhall, Marion Thompson, and Lorraine Vanderwende. Special thanks also go to George Mattegat, Newtownâs Dog Warden, who also helped out. Thanks also to Megan OâConnell who coordinated the clinic for the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association. Susan Shpunt, Blithe Dotson, and Jean Salvatore, from the town clerkâs office, were also on hand and issued the new 2000 dog licenses.
Thanks again to all who helped to make this clinic a success.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Curtis Simon, CMC
