Free Seminars On Self-Employment And Franchise Ownership

Tim Stubbs, owner of the Newtown branch of The Entrepreneur’s Source, will hold a no-cost seminar called “Exploring Self-Employment and Franchising” in Brookfield and Newtown during the coming weeks.

Topics will include the discussion of the market, myths and misperceptions of business ownership, franchise basics, and how one should approach a change in one’s career. The seminar will be offered on Tuesday, June 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, at Brookfield Public Library and again on Tuesday, July 15, from 7 to 9 pm, at Cyrenius Booth Library in Newtown.

The seminar will focus on career changes that the average person will embark upon several times during his or her lifetime.

“People often look for something different, hoping to gain greater control over their lives. However, the prospect of owning a business can be overwhelming, and most people end up abandoning their dream,” Mr Stubbs said. “With education, people can empower themselves and discover options that can make their career dreams come true.”

The Entrepreneur’s Source, America’s leading independent consulting company according to Entrepreneur Magazine, is a nationwide network of business ownership consultants who work with individuals considering franchising as a career alternative and companies examining a method of expansion. The goal of The Entrepreneur’s Source is to help clients identify business opportunities that best meet their goals, needs, and expectations.

Franchising is one option many clients consider, according to Terry Powell, founder and CEO of The Entrepreneur’s Source. “Each year more than $800 billion in goods and services are sold through franchises. While only eight percent of all retail outlets are franchises, they generate more than 41 percent of the total volume for retail goods and services,” he said. “In addition, the close relationship and support of the franchiser has helped to generate a success rate of more than 92 percent. It’s the most successful method of business expansion today and a ‘win-win’ situation for all concerned.”

With its support center located in Southbury, The Entrepreneur’s Source has more than 200 offices in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, offering a full range of services to individuals interested in self-employment and companies searching for methods of expansion.
