NFA SpringFest: It’s On!
After 15 consecutive rainy weekends and one postponement, Newtown Forest Association (NFA) will present its third annual SpringFest at Holcombe Hill Saturday, June 14 rain or shine.
The all-ages, family friendly event will run from noon to 5 pm at Holcombe Hill Preserve, NFA’s headquarters at 65 Great Hill Road.
Admission is $5 in advance through NFAspringfest2025.eventbrite.com, which includes two raffle tickets.
At the gate, admission is $10 per person.
NFA members have free admission. Those who decide to join NFA on June 14 will enjoy free admission for themselves and their family. Membership also means free admission to future NFA events.
Over 20 local vendors have registered to participate in SpringFest.
Additionally, there will be a Companion Pet Rescue Dogs Adoption Zone, where guests can meet adoptable dogs. Applications are available online for those who expect to adopt that day, at cprdogs.com/adopt/adoption-application/.
SpringFest attendees will also be invited to launch seed bombs with a sling shot with the UConn-4H Extension Club from atop Holcombe Hill to help spread native wildflowers; enjoy face painting for all ages, take yoga sessions, and enjoy live music, among other activities.
Food and drink will be available for purchase, also Reverie Beer and the opportunity to purchase a commemorative NFA beer glass.
Raffles will also be happening during SpringFest. Each vendor has generously donated an item valued at $25 or more into the raffle to support NFA’s mission preserving forests, agricultural lands, meadows, watersheds, and other open spaces in Newtown, for the benefit of plants, animals, and human residents. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each.
