Big Sisters Need Volunteers

BRIDGEPORT — Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut is looking for female volunteers who have the desire to mentor a young girl. There are more than 50 girls who are waiting for a friend who will make a positive difference in their lives.

Volunteers are asked to donate a few hours each month. Program organizers say that girls who are matched and meet regularly with their Big Sister do better in school, get along better with their families, and are less likely to use drugs or alcohol. For more information call 800-240-7186.
