Program On Water Safety

DANBURY — As the swimming and water activity season officially starts, Danbury Hospital invites people who work with children, including parks and recreation staff, teachers, camp counselors, life guards, and athletic directors, to attend a water safety program addressing “Standard of Care in the Prevention and Management of Aquatic Injuries.”

The program will take place on Monday, June 25, at the Danbury Hospital auditorium, from 7 to 8:30 pm. Park free in the Blue Visitors’ Parking Lot on Hospital Avenue.

Parents are welcome to attend; however, be advised that some material will be graphic.

Featured guest speaker Gerald Dworkin, a professional aquatics safety and water rescue consultant for Lifesaving Resources, Inc., will discuss drowning and aquatic injury prevention with a focus on decreasing unintentional injuries in the community.

Danbury Hospital Trauma Services, Danbury Hospital Surgical Services, and the Fairfield County Safe Kids Coalition are sponsors of this water safety program.

To register and for more information regarding the program, call Kathleen Lewis, Danbury Hospital Trauma Program Coordinator, at 797-7901.
