61 Artists Selected For Discovery   Art Exhibition

BRIDGEPORT — Sixty-one artists from 36 Connecticut towns and two in New York have been selected from the 42nd Discovery Museum Juried Art Exhibition, on view through July 7.

The exhibition is part of the city’s annual Barnum Festival. Works of art include painting in oil/acrylic, painting/drawing on paper, mixed media, sculpture and photography.

Jurors reviewed nearly 300 entries for the exhibition this year, selecting 85 works by 61 artists. The jurors were Howardena Pindell, an artist and professor of art at State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Jock Reynolds, The Henry J. Heinz II Director of Yale University Art Gallery.

The Discovery Museum is at 4450 Park Ave. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
