Oil Painter Will Be Guest Speaker At Next SCAN Meeting
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will present an oil painting demonstration by Beth Ellis of Glastonbury on Wednesday, June 28, at 1:30 pm. The demonstration is open to the public and will be held at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole). Admission is free.
Ms Ellis is a dedicated plein air painter who takes her easel, sets up, and paints outdoors year round. A graduate of Paier College of Art, she credits her early training along with a career as a graphic designer/illustrator for setting a solid foundation for her expression as a painter.
Ms Ellisâ paintings have won numerous awards and are in private collections from coast to coast. Her paintings have been on exhibit in numerous galleries in the Northeast, including Promenade Gallery at The Bushnell in Hartford.
She is currently represented by Blue Herson Gallery in Wellfleet, Mass, as well as Northlight Gallery in Kennebunkport, Me., and The Ellen Traut Collection in West Hartford.
