Childrenâs Book Signings At Lexington Gardens, Saturday
On Saturday, June 19, Lexington Gardens will host a special event with childrenâs book authors on site from 11 am until 2 pm.
Three Connecticut based authors will be visiting to read and talk about their books. Following their presentation books will be available for purchase and signing.
Dawn Aldrich Author will sign copies and talk about her book Auntieâs House, a rhyming, picture book told from the point of view of a young girl who spends time at her auntâs house while her mother is away at work. It tells about a little girl enjoying playtime with her aunt with a deeper theme about separation anxiety.
Doreen Tango Hampton will present I Like Gum, which discusses the likes and dislikes of a gum-chewing kid and will have young readers bursting with laughter.
Rick Arruzza will enlighten guests with Sparkyâs Big Race, one of the books Mr Arruzza has written featuring a pit bull-pointer mixed breed who was saved from a New York City Animal Care & Control Center and now lives with her adopted family in Stamford. Sparky has gone from death row to canine celebrity through her starring role in the Sparky stories, as well as countless book readings at schools throughout the United States and the fact that $1 from every one of her books sold is donated to Adopt-A-Dog, the organization that saved her life.
As an added feature, Vermont Country Gourmet will be at Lexington Gardens from 10 am until 4 pm offering samples of its gourmet foods.
Lexington Gardens is at 32 Church Hill Road in Newtown.
