Understanding Your Healthcare Benefits

BRIDGEPORT — “Understanding Your Healthcare Benefits” is the presentation set for the monthly meeting of St Vincent’s Healthy Hearts (formerly the Fairfield County Heart Club) on Wednesday, July 5, at 7 pm in the Hawley Conference Center located on the Main Level of St Vincent’s Medical Center.

Featured speaker is St Vincent’s Health Insurance Counselor Gerd Weindling, who also serves as State President of AARP. Mr Weindling’s presentation will focus on understanding Medicare benefits, covered versus non-covered expenses, medical bills, and on clarifying the process for filing claims and appeals and completing insurance forms.

Mr Weindling’s talk will begin at 7:30 pm. Nurses from St Vincent’s Medical Center will be available to take blood pressures from 7 to 7:30 pm. Light refreshments will also be provided.

The Heart Club, open to all cardiac patients and their families and friends, presents programs on a different cardiac-related topic each month. Parking is free in the lot immediately in front of St Vincent’s or in the new Hunting Street parking garage.
