SCAN Membersâ Critique Planned
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have a critique of membersâ art by the well-known educator John Massimino Wednesday, June 24, at 1:30 pm. The program will be open to the public and will be at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street.
It is not necessary to be a member of SCAN to attend. Admission is free.
Mr Massimino received his bachelor of fine arts degree from Hartford Art School. He has been featured in numerous solo shows, as well as group exhibitions in the United States and Italy, including presentations at New Britain Museum of American Art, AHDA Art Gallery in New York City, Bechtel International Center, Stamford University, and Galleria DâArte Personale in Italy.
Among his 40 painting awards are Watercolor USA, American Watercolor Society (AWS), Connecticut Watercolor Society, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, New Haven Paint, and Clay and Audubon Show in New York City.
Now a resident of New Haven, Mr Massimino taught at Paier College of Art in Hamden for 20 years and is currently a visiting professor.
