Florence A. Gay, 74, of 113 Sunset Drive, Derby, wife of 53 years to Earle L. âBudâ Gay, died June 18, in Griffin Hospital, Derby.
She was the brother of Peter Lopato of Newtown.
She was born in Norwich on June 18, 1926, daughter of the late Peter and Ann Lopato. She was a resident of Derby for more than 40 years, and formerly lived in Trumbull. She retired in 1988 from Sikorsky Aircraft where she was employed for more than 33 years. She was a communicant of St Michael Church.
She is also survived by her daughters, Linda Barrett Chavaneck and her husband, Paul, of Greenville, S.C., Christine Robert and her husband, Renald, and Nancy DeGennaro and her husband, Danny, all of Derby; another brother, John Lopato of Stepney; five sisters, Eleanor Bernabucci of Seymour, Doris Kosloffsky of Fairhaven, Vt., Barbara Whiting of Woodbridge, Edith Clarke of Orange, and Patricia Alden of Canajoharie, N.Y.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, was in charge of arrangements.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St Michael Church. Burial was in Mount St Peter Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Griffin Hospital Development Fund, 130 Division Avenue, Derby, CT 06418.
