Stoyak Named Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue Member Of The Year
As part of Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company's annual meeting on June 7, it was announced that Captain Kevin Stoyak had been selected as the 2016 Outstanding Member of the Year.
Among the items considered by this year's Outstanding Member Committee, it was noted that Capt Stoyak, second from left, was a firefighter before moving to Sandy Hook, continuing a family tradition. Since starting his membership with Sandy Hook, he has held various positions within the company, including engineer, lieutenant and assistant chief, in addition to his current position as captain.
He has been maintained firefighter and EMT status for his 19-plus years with Sandy Hook to date.
Capt Stoyak is a top responder for Sandy Hook, regularly making the company's monthly top ten rankings.
