Antiques Appraisals By Newtown Auctioneer, June 30

DANBURY — Danbury Senior Center will host an antique appraisal clinic at Elmwood Hall/The New Danbury Senior Center, 10 Elmwood Place, on Thursday, June 30, from 1 to 4 pm. Doors will open at 12:30. The event is open to the public.

Jack DeStories of Fairfield Auction in Newtown will be on hand to evaluate treasures for a cost of $5 per item. Limit is three items, or photographs of large items, per person (photos are requested of large items or furniture).

All of the proceeds will benefit The Prime Timers, Inc., Friends of Danbury Seniors. Funds raised by The Prime Timers, Inc., are used to enhance programs and services for Danbury’s senior citizens through Elmwood Hall.

“We are always surprised what turns up at these events,” said Mr DeStories. “We enjoy these events and are very pleased to be working for the benefit of seniors in Danbury. This is a great chance for us to give back to the community.”

Up to three items per person in categories such as American and European furniture, paintings, bronzes, silver, carpets, porcelains, glassware, lamps, clocks, music boxes, famous autographs, baseball cards, old toys, jewelry and antique firearms will be evaluated.

Elmwood Hall is at 10 Elmwood Place, off Main Street next to the Danbury Hospital clinics.

Call Fran Hendrickson at the senior center for more information, 797-4686.
