Accomplished Golfer
Charles Taylor, 94 of Fairfield, beloved husband of Frances Short Taylor, to whom he was married for 62 years prior to her death last year, died June 17, at his residence. Mr. Taylor was born in Bethel, the son of Harriett and Arthur E. Taylor.
Three siblings, including Walker T. Taylor of Newtown; and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews survive Mr Taylor. In addition to his wife, three siblings predeceased him.
Mr Taylor was a retired sales representative for the Schine & Rosenbaum Company.
He was a former starter at the Smith Richardson Golf Course and the Pine Creek Par 3. He accomplished what many golfers dream of, having a hole in one, of which he had two at Smith Richardson. Mr Taylor was a fan of the New York Mets and enjoyed watching both menâs and womenâs UConn basketball.
He was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Fairfield.
Funeral services were June 22. Interment was in Mt Grove of Easton Cemetery.
