*If you’re holding tickets for this weekend’s BROOKS & DUNN show at The Comcast Theatre in Hartford, hang on to them a little longer. On Tuesday the duo announced the postponement and rescheduling of dates on their Last Rodeo Tour.

At the recommendation of his doctor, Ronnie Dunn has been put on vocal rest for three weeks. The Hartford date has been rescheduled to August 14; tickets with the June 25 date will of course be honored that evening.

Look, it could have been worse: While most dates have been shuffled around and will still be happening, ticketholders in Milwaukee, Wisc., and For Laramie, Ohio, are completely out of luck. Those shows have been canceled altogether.

*Also in the vein of cancellations and reschedules, the SIMON & GARFUNKEL show that had already been rescheduled once for July 29 at Mohegan Sun Arena (after being postponed from May 20) has now been postponed indefinitely.

Art Garfunkel continues to recover from a vocal paresis. According to his doctors, the singer is expected to make a full recovery, but they cannot predict an exact timeline.

All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

*Meanwhile, new shows going on sale this weekend include LIMP BIZKIT and AVENGED SEVENFOLD, who will be at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford on Friday, July 30. Tickets are $69.50 for general admission pit, $59.50 reserved, and will be available through LiveNation.com beginning at 10 am Friday, June 25.

All That Remains and Hail The Villain will each have opening sets.

This show replaces the LIMP BIZKIT with ICE CUBE show originally scheduled for the same date. Tickets for that show need to be returned; they will not be honored for the new show. Online and charge-by-phone purchases will be automatically refunded, so watch your bank statement. Cash purchases must be refunded at their point of purchase.

*For those of you who are planning to attend the Ringo & The All-Starr Band concert at Mohegan Sun this weekend, you ma want to head toward Uncasville a little early on Sunday.

Prior to his performance in the Arena that evening, former Beatle RINGO STARR will become the 19th entertainer inducted into Mohegan Sun’s Walk of Fame.

The honor recognizes those individuals who have made significant contributions to the success of Mohegan Sun as the Northeast’s premier entertainment destination. All of the individuals inducted into the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame have their name engraved on a plaque that will be permanently placed at the entrance to Mohegan Sun Arena. Among those already honored have been Keith Urban, Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, Alan Jackson, and Tim McGraw, who I believe was the first inductee.

Starr has performed in front of more than 30,000 fans in three of Mohegan Sun’s entertainment venues including four shows in the Arena, in which three were near sellouts. Sunday’s induction ceremony will be held outside the main entrance of the Arena, near the Mohegan Sun box office, and will begin at 4:50.

*The Palace Theater in Waterbury announced this week that fan favorites TOWER OF POWER will return for an encore performance on October 22.

*And finally this week, Joe Proc’s latest project, WIPED OUT, will return to Proud Mary’s on Saturday night. Joe, with a revolving group of musicians, will begin performing at the lounge below The Inn at Newtown, around 7 pm. Joe and the young adults will be performing until about 10 pm, and then Joe will continue the evening’s entertainment by performing on bongo drums and serving as DJ.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you… on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141. Shows listed at clubs are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
