Tibor G. Varga

Established Gamma Instrument And Tool Company

Tibor G. Varga, 89, of Redding, formerly of Ridgefield, died June 17, at his home. He was the husband of the late Gizella Hoyer Varga. Mr Varga was born in Budapest, Hungary, September 3, 1920, a son of Michael and Maria Zimmerman Varga.

A beloved husband and father he is survived by two children, including Tibor Peter Varga and his wife, Joanne, of Newtown; a brother; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two dear cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr Varga was predeceased by a brother.

Mr Varga immigrated to the United States in 1956, first settling in Danbury, and residing for 42 years in Ridgefield. The Vargas moved to Redding in 2005.

A tool and die maker, Mr Varga was employed by Schlumberger-Doll of Ridgefield, and in 1972 established the Gamma Instrument and Tool Company of Danbury. He retired in 1985.

He and his wife could always be found outside working in their beautiful gardens. He loved to tinker with anything that was mechanical in nature.

Mr Varga was a founding member of St Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 24, with the Rev Joseph A. Prince, pastor, officiating.

The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff of Meadow Ridge for their excellent care and kindness.
