Robert Thomas Daily, 83, died June 23 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fla.
He was the father of R. Thomas Daily of Sandy Hook and May Ann Murtha of Newtown.
Mr Daily was born in Erie, Penn., on March 27, 1918, and is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marion. He resided in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., since 1980.
He is also survived by another son, James C. Daily of West Redding; and daughters, Doris Brough of Arlington, Va., Sally Buckler of Dayton, Md., and Connie Sheils of Clarks Summit, Penn.; one sister, Helen, of Erie, Penn.; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The former president of Celanese Plastics and the former corporate vice president of the General Electric Company, Mr Daily was active in the United Way and various charitable organizations. Mr Daily read books to local school children in his later years.
A memorial service was held at Our Lady Star of the Sea at Ponte Vedra Beach on June 24.
