Former UConn Players Holding Clinics At NYA
Former University of Connecticut basketball players will come to Newtown to hold summer clinics in July and August as follows:
Brittany Hunter Camp
Former UConn player Brittany Hunter is holding clinics for middle school and high school girls at Newtown Youth Academy Sports & Fitness this month.
The high school camp will take place July 19-21, and the middle school camp will be held July 22 and 23. All camp days will run from 9 am to 3 pm and will include a healthy lunch, and T-shirt.
The goal of the program is to address the often forgotten and misunderstood aspects of competitive sports: Injury prevention, nutrition, education, networking and recruiting, as well as competitive play, agility work, and drills.
Hunter will coach with former teammates: Mel Thomas, Caroline Doty, Heather Buck, Lorin Dixon, Jacquie Fernandes, and Gianna Smith (former college and professional player).
