Warrant
Police report they arrested Brian Gibbons, 27, of 55 Cedar Hill Road on a warrant on the morning of July 1, charging him with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny.
Police said the arrest stems from a May 27 incident in which Gibbons allegedly burglarized a Cedar Hill Road residence and stole some jewelry from it.
Police held Gibbons on $7,500 bail for a July 1 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.
Gibbons was being held on $20,000 bail this week at the Bridgeport Correctional Center for a July 15 court appearance.
Man Arrested
At about 1:52 am on July 3, police received a call alerting them that the someone had thrown a state traffic sign onto Sugar Street (Route 302) at its intersection with Head Oâ Meadow Road, after which a motorist inadvertently drove over that vandalized sign.
Police said they went to the area to investigate and while there, encountered someone who was throwing a mailbox and the mailboxâs post onto the street. A man was then seen running away from the area, police report.
Police said they soon found Scott A. Bierce, Jr, 19, of 9 Loveland Drive hiding in some tall grass and brush nearby. Police arrested Bierce on charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment.
Following arrest processing, police released Bierce on $100 bail for arraignment on the charges on July 19 in Danbury Superior Court.
Alcohol Charge
At about 1 am on July 5, police stopped a driver on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Toddy Hill Road, after spotting that the vehicle had only one functioning headlamp. Police said that they then verbally warned the unidentified driver.
However, police then noticed that a passenger in that vehicle, John Peterson, 18, of Monroe, was in possession of alcohol.
Police charged Peterson with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, issuing him an infraction for that offense.
Police said they turned over Peterson to the custody of his mother.
Mailbox Incidents
According to police, overnight on July 1/July 2, someone stole several curbside residential mailboxes and vandalized another mailbox in the Twist Hill Lane area. Police are investigating and ask anyone with knowledge of the mailbox vandals/thieves to contact them at 203-426-5841.

Keys Found
A set of keys, which contains one automotive key, was found on property located near the intersection of Paugussett Road and Sky Top Drive in Sandy Hook. Police learned of the found keys on the afternoon of July 3.
The keys are being held for safekeeping at the police station. The owner may contact police to claim the keys.
Intersection Crash
A two-SUV accident occurred at the intersection of Church Hill Road and Walnut Tree Hill Road about 5 pm June 25, police said.
The accident involved motorist Kristine Ngov, 20, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Montero SUV, and motorist Edward DâAmico, Jr, 19, of 64 Forest Drive, who was driving a 1985 Chevrolet Blazer SUV, according to police.
Ngov was transported to Danbury Hospital, as was DâAmico and a passenger in the Chevrolet, police said.
Police issued Ngov a written warning for unsafe passing.
Motorcycle Mishap
Motorcyclist Mark Scheunemann, 19, of 21 Clearview Drive was driving a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R750 northward near 15 Berkshire Road when he struck some curbing on the right road shoulder, causing the Suzuki to flip over end-over-end multiple times on an embankment, police said.
 Ambulance volunteers transported him to Danbury Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said. Police issued Scheunemann a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Vehicular Violations
After spotting motorist Dennis Rowell, Jr, 30, of Danbury driving 40 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone on Elm Drive about 9:30 pm July 5, police stopped him to investigate, and then charging him with traveling too fast and with driving with a suspended license.
Police released Rowell on $200 bail for a July 20 court appearance.
South Main Street
Police report that at about 7:22 pm July 3, they stopped motorist Beshmir Behluli, 23, of 335 South Main Street in the area near 220 South Main Street to investigate.
Police charged Behluli with failure to display a marker plate, driving under suspension, and driving a vehicle with tinted windows without state authorization.
Police released Behluli on a written promise to appear in court on July 20.
Highway Accident
Motorist Maureen Campbell, 48, of Waterbury was driving a 2000 Honda Accord in the center lane of three lanes on westbound Interstate 84 about 10 pm June 28, when a rear tire went flat on the auto and the vehicle spun out of control, striking some guardrailing on the left road shoulder, state police report.
Campbell was not injured. State police said the accident was caused by equipment failure.
Buick Vs Infiniti
At about 5:30 pm on June 30, motorist Cristen Baiamonte, 26, of Danbury, who was driving a 2004 Infiniti G-35 eastward on Interstate 84, near Exit 9, slowed for traffic conditions and was hit from behind by an eastbound 1998 Buick LeSabre driven by Christopher Mack, 19, of Southbury, according to state police.
Baiamonte was transported to Danbury Hospital to be checked for minor injuries, state police said.
State police said Mack was following too closely.
I-84 Collision
In heavy eastbound traffic on Interstate 84 at about 7 pm on June 30, motorist Gary Stephen, 58, of Canton stopped for traffic conditions and was hit from behind by a 1999 Mazda 626 driven by Gabriel Rodriguez, 22, of Hartford, state police said.
There were no injuries. Rodriguez was verbally warned for failure to maintain a safe distance apart.
Toyota Vs Tire
Motorist Isabelle Kurtzman, 70, of Southbury was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9, about 10 pm July 3, when the vehicle struck a tire that was lying on the road, state police said. There were no injuries.
Congested Conditions
 About 2 pm on July 1 on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 11, motorist Stuart Kolbert, 73, of Irvington, N.Y., who was driving a 2006 Acura TL, slowed for heavy traffic conditions and was hit from behind by motorist Charles Brown, 54, of Oxford, who was driving a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant, state police report.
There were no injuries. Brown received an infraction for following too closely.
Vehicle Vandalized
Police are investigating a case of vandalism to an unspecified vehicle that was parked at the Hot Shots Grille, Restaurant and Tap Room at 130 Mt Pleasant Road.
Police said the intentional damage to the vehicle probably occurred about 11:45 pm on July 6. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police at 203-426-5841.
Washington Avenue
Police said they spotted motorist Sourou Agba, 42, of West Haven driving a vehicle at a speed exceeding the posted speed limit on northbound Washington Avenue about 9:30 am July 6, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police charged Agba with traveling too fast and with driving with a suspended license. Agba was released on a written promise to appear on July 20 in Danbury Superior Court.
Currituck Road
Motorist Theresa Laslo, 52, of Old Bethel Road was driving a 2003 Honda station wagon eastward on Currituck Road, west of its intersection with Frontage Road, about 9:30 am July 6, when a deer emerged from the woods and ran in front of the vehicle, resulting in a collision, police said.
The deer then ran off into another wooded area, police said. Laslo was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
