Junior/Senior Championship

Rock Ridge Country Club’s annual Junior/Senior Championship was held last weekend. This tournament is the second trophy event at Rock Ridge. The championship pairs a member under the age of 50 with a member over the age of 50 in a two-day better ball format. Dean Harvey and Tom Meyer won the event which went down to the wire. Mike Fuori and Len Calbo were in the lead after the first day with a net 10 under par score of 60. With a strong performance on day two, Harvey and Meyer fought back by shooting a net score of 8 under par 62 to tie Fuori and Calbo. After the completion of 36 holes, the two teams were tied for low net at 15 under par 125. The team of Harvey and Meyer were forced into a sudden death playoff with Fuori and Calbo. The two teams went back out on the golf course to decide a winner. Harvey and Meyer came out on top winning on the first sudden death hole to claim sole possession of low net. Fuori and Calbo received second low net honors.

The team of Mike Spicci and John DuBraski needed only 36 holes to claim low gross honors with a score of one under par 139. They posted the lowest round of the tournament, a one under par score of 69 gross on Sunday.

Coming in with a two over par gross score of 142, Sean Patrick and John O’Connor claimed the second gross prize.

First Net: Joe Golden

Second Net: Graham Fyffe

third Net: Tony DiPerrio

Fourth Net: Marty Gersten and Cary Kortze

With a score of plus four points, Joe Golden took home first place this week in Thursday night quota league. Graham Fyffe came in second and Tony Diperrio was third.

With a score of three under par 32, the Fuller family (Art, Wendy, Courtney, and Casey) won low gross prizes. Coming in second in a team effort, the Gavel and Spicci families (Frank, Laurie and Tommy Gavel along with Mike and Jonathan Spicci) posted a round of one under par 34.

First Net: Jeff and Kathy Fetchick

Second Net: Pat and Pam McLaughlin

The Fetchicks had a score of four under par 31. Pat and Pam McLaughlin came in second with a net score of three under par.
