Saturday, July 12

Annual Friends of C.H. Booth Library Book Sale begins, 9 am–5 pm, Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane, admission $10 between 9 am and noon (numbered admission tickets on sale at 7), then $5 12–5 pm (admission free remainder of sale, July 13–16), more than 120,000 items in 80-plus categories, proceeds benefit town’s library, sale continues daily to July 16; 426-4533.

Car Wash, 10 am–2 pm, Sandy Hook Fire & Rescue main station, 18-20 Riverside Road, donations accepted, cars washed by members of fire company’s Junior Corps, who will benefit from day’s proceeds.

Sandy Hook Village Concerts in the Park: The Edge, 7 pm, Sandy Hook Village Park, Glen Road at Church Hill Road, free performance by Ruskin, Fla.-based teen gospel band will feature contemporary Christian music, bring seating, light refreshments available.

Sandy Hook Village Farmers’ Market, 9 am–1 pm, 3-5 Glen Road, Sandy Hook, flowers, fruits, and vegetables from local farmers, baked goods, nutritional seminars, monthly family activities, runs weekly until October 26; 426-2427.
