Call For Artists: Bridgewater Fair Art Show

BRIDGEWATER — August is fast approaching and with it comes the prospect of entering original artwork into the annual Bridgewater Fair Art Show.

Regional artists of all ages are invited to choose a couple of their current favorite pieces. All work by adult artists must be properly framed, matted and ready to hang. Children’s work does not need to be framed but should be matted.

Subject matter for all ages should be appropriate for a family-type fair. All work must be original. Organizers will accept oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, etchings, lithographs, monotypes, monoprints and woodcuts.

This is an exhibition only. Sale prices will not be posted but inquiries during the fair will be logged and forwarded to the artists.

The Fair Committee is not responsible for any theft or damage to works on exhibition.  Note:  Firehouse is securely locked at night and guards are on patrol.  There will be persons in charge of the exhibit present during all the official Fair hours.  Exhibitors may be required to sign a release in case of theft or damage.

Delivery of all artwork and artists’ registration will be on Thursday, August 19, between 4 and 7 pm, at Bridgewater Firehouse, on Route 133.

No work may be removed from the fairgrounds before Sunday, August 22, at 6 pm. Any art not claimed by 7 pm will not be the responsibility of the fire department.

Classic Photography in New Milford is in charge of the photography exhibit.  For information call 860-350-1409. For additional information call Bridgewater Fair Art Show Superintendent Pamela Hochstetter at 860-350-1121.
