Gardening Fair At Extension Center

BETHEL — The University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program of Fairfield County and the Connecticut Master Gardener Association will sponsor their 8th Annual Gardening Fair on Sunday, August 15, from 12:30 until 5 pm.

The theme of this year’s fair is Edibles. The free event requires no registration and will offer the public an array of gardening activities. There will be multiple presentations by gardening experts on several aspects of edibles including “Edible Landscaping” by Nancy Baker and “Vegetables Contained” by Lorraine Ballato.

Many information booths will be set up to cover a variety of topics including vegetables, invasives, and turf care. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions and will offer free testing of soil samples brought in by attendees.

Free refreshments, demonstrations, a free plant raffle, the sale of gently used gardening books, and other garden related activities are planned for the annual gardening event.

The fair will be held on the grounds of the Fairfield County Extension Center, 67 Stony Hill Road, Bethel, less than a mile from Exit 8 on I-84. Call the Master Gardener office with questions at 203-207-3262. Additional Information is also available at BethelGardenFair.com.
